Summer School
After the incredible response we got from Wesleyan University students in January, we're finally offering our 2-day workshop, Some Assembly Required: Devising from the Ground Up, in New York this summer. Over the course of the weekend, members of The Assembly will guide participants through our unique interdisciplinary process that combines research, personal writing, physical movement, structured improvisation and design into a single imposing theatrical chimera. If you watched HOME/SICK or That Poor Dream and wondered how we made it, now's your chance to find out. We welcome all actors, writers, directors, and designers who are eager to experiment with lots of different disciplines. No previous knowledge or training is required, just a desire to create and collaborate (and get a little sweaty in the process.) We're hoping to keep these workshops small and intimate, so act fast if you're interested!
